Our Pastor

Pastor Brenda Somerville-Schall

My name is Brenda Somerville Schall. I was born in Muncie, IN and raised in Buckhannon, West Virginia. I graduated licensing school in 2017. The Lord called me many times and I pushed it aside. Finally, I could no longer do that. I attended Mount Zion United Methodist Church as my home church. I was a lay speaker for more than 11 years. I have spoken at many churches. This church included. I was a Sunday School Superintendent for more than 11 years. I have taught many of the Sunday School classes. I directed Vacation Bible School and a kids club after school. I enjoy mission work very much. I went on a mission trip to Mississippi to help with flood clean-up. I have also gone to Honduras and worked during the day and preached at night in different churches.

I love the lord with all my heart, and I am a people person. My first church as a pastor was Germany United Methodist Church in new Florence, Pennsylvania. Now I am at Allegheny River charge, a four point charge. I am the associate pastor there. I oversee Manorville United Methodist Church and Ford Memorial United Methodist Church where I oversee them, and pastor as needed. I have been there for over 2 years.

I am attending course of study at the school of Ohio the West Virginia extension. I have completed nine of the 20 classes required and signed up for the fall class already. The Lord works in strange ways, he has opened my eyes as a Christian too many things. I love visiting the shut ins and praying for the sick. God still answers prayer. I have been through many hard places in my life, and God has been there with me through it all.

I live in Elderton, Pennsylvania with my husband Chester Schall, we have been married 4 years. God blessed me with two beautiful children, one boy and one girl. My son Christopher Wayne Somerville is in the army. He is now a guidance counselor and he lives in Alaska. he will retire in three years with 20 years of service. He is married with a beautiful wife Heather and has two stepsons and a daughter.

My daughter lives in Shelocta, Pennsylvania. She works at Indiana hospital where she is a patient access supervisor. Angela and her husband Jeremy have two children, one boy and one girl. I am the proud grandmother of five grandchildren. My husband Chet and I have 10 grandchildren total.

I really believe that God is at work in my life, and He is at work in the world today. Even if we do not feel Him or see Him, He is there. Church, we must all do our part as Christians to go fishing for the lost, bring them in so that God can clean them. I want to hear God say well done good and faithful servant. I believe that God wants me to help others to see with new eyes, the love that he has for us all.
